SD DOT I-229 Design Build Project

Buskerud Construction, Inc. was instrumental in the first ever design-build project for the SDDOT in Sioux Falls, SD.  We were required to compile a complete survey of all existing structures and conditions prior to quoting this project and predesign the items that we would be constructing to complete our estimated costs for construction as the bidders were not familiar with our items prior to bidding. 

Buskerud Construction, Inc. is the only local SDDOT certified DBE contractor with the knowledge of current highway safety standards and past history to take the risk and be awarded a contract for over $2 million on this project.  The design-build project was a joint venture of Gilbert Central and Parson’s Engineering and involved significant scheduling, design assistance, creativity and dedication of all employees that were involved.  Buskerud Construction completed all guardrails, sign structures, bridge modification and erosion control for this historic project.
